The general goal of our research activities is to understand underlying causes that regulate sustainability of population and communities. We are particularly interested in how trophic interactions and environmental drivers regulate food web dynamics and how they may look like in the future. We address questions mainly in aquatic systems with a special emphasis on planktonic organisms. Our research is organized around the following themes:
- Food web dynamics and trophic interactions
- Ecosystem responses to environmental change
- Behavioral and life-history adaptation to environmental variation
We use a multi-disciplinary approach, combining descriptive field studies, experimental research (field and laboratory), and historical data with statistical modeling to relate external variation on ecosystem dynamics and species responses.
The purpose of this blog is to keep all of us in the lab connected and a place for interested parties to keep up with our activities.
